WHERE: Plant World – 250 El Pueblo Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87113

WHY: Wings of Enchantment and Plant World will join together to celebrate national Butterfly Education and Awareness Day (BEAD) to help promote the importance of planting for butterflies and other pollinators. Activities include making clay seed balls to take home, walking through the Butterfly Encounter to interact with and see all four stages of the butterfly ($2/person, cash only fee), and learning what to plant to attract Monarchs and a variety of New Mexico butterflies. Limited supply of native and non-native milkweed will be available for sale, as well as free milkweed seeds (while supplies last). Life cycle kits, books and other butterfly related trinkets will be available for purchase. Other groups joining us this year include Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge, Albuquerque Wildlife Federation, Casa Brujaja, Council of Albuquerque Garden Clubs, Sandoval County Master Gardeners, Native Plant Society of New Mexico. WHY: Pollination Celebration activities include live music, kids crafts, demonstration bee hives, honey sales, local vendors, activity tables and more!  We will have our life cycle display along with life cycle kits, books and other butterfly related trinkets for sale. WHERE: The Agri-Nature Center 4920 Rio Grande Blvd. NW – Village of Los Ranchos

WHY: One of our favorite events of the year!. Join over 10,000 lavender lovers, farmers, small businesses, musicians, yoga instructors, and come see our butterfly life cycle display.  We’ll also have life cycle kits, books and other butterfly trinkets for sale. WHERE: Jericho Nursery – 101 Alameda Blvd. NW, Albuquerque NM

WHY: Step up and become a citizen scientist by doing your part in helping study the migration and breeding patterns of Monarch butterflies in the Southwest. You can adopt a monarch butterfly, we’ll show you how to tag it, and then you can release your butterfly.  Stay tuned for more information.
