BUTTERFLY TAG AND RELEASE
WHEN: Saturday, 09.15.2018; 9:00am-12:00pm
WHERE: Jericho Nursery – 101 Alameda Blvd. NW, Albuquerque NM
WHY: Step up and become a citizen scientist by doing your part in helping study the migration and breeding patterns of Monarch butterflies in the Southwest. You can adopt a monarch butterfly, we’ll show you how to tag it, and then you can release your butterfly.
PREREGISTRATION: Preregistration is now CLOSED. Availability of butterflies for release is limited! You can still adopt butterflies during the event, at the event location ($10/ea.), only while supplies last.
RELEASE TIMES: We will be releasing butterflies together in groups at 9:30am, 10:30am, and 11:30am on September 15, 2018. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your planned release time to allow time to check in and tag your butterfly. If you did not preregister and show up the day of the event, we recommend arriving 1 hour prior to when you want to release your butterfly to allow time for adoption and tagging (Please note Jericho Nursery opens at 9:00am).
